  30.    with this release.. Many bugs has been removed..

  35.    the menu look -> OS2.x look :)) If anyone has another LOGFILE

  38.    Kåre Johansen...

  41.    Finaly !!... NC does now support arguments, this took some time, but
  42.    I finaly made it. I have also removed some bugs I discovered on my
  43.    way doing this argument stuff.. But still, alot remains to do with
  44.    NC, so I want you to report back to me, if anything strange happens.

  57.    I have also been thinking of releasing the next version as shareware,
  58.    if anybody has any statements, then come on, let's hear them..
  59.    NC has been quite popular since 2.00, so, I have been thinking alot
  60.    on this one. Because, I need the money, most of all to hold my board
  61.    up and running, and because I'm a student and have no work/money..
  62.    So, therefore I ask all of you that uses NC; Would you support me
  63.    and my future shareware releases!??

  66.    Yepp, another quick release. This version has got some new features
  67.    and some of the design has been replaced with radio buttons, instead
  68.    of check buttons.. NC should now be FONT-SENSETIV, if any fonts
  69.    problems appear again, please contact me as fast as possible..
  70.    NC seems to work fine with all the new features,
  71.    but as Murphy used to say; "There is always a new bug.." :)

  74.    It has been ages since i released the 1.21(5) version of NComment.
  75.    This version starts to be the most wanted program, especially when
  76.    I'm now is about to tell you about the features this program
  77.    allows.. (Read about it in the support section)

  79.    Please notice that this version is fully approved (take a look in
  80.    the meny's for example), all commands are highlighted.. NC has
  81.    got a new (3d) kinda look..

  84.    as small as possible :) Because, this program is quite
  85.    self-explainable, so there is no need for a 100k doc :)

  90.    NC is about to become a tool for every sysops out there, this
  91.    program will get the file description for a file, by searching
  92.    threw logs, filelists or *.readme files, this is ofcourse your
  93.    choice. I should admit that the README option is the fastest
  94.    of them all.. :)

  96.                              What is a log !?

  99.    A log is a kind of a scrollback (like NComm's), and this file is
  100.    where NC comes in. NC will look in the log/scrollback for file
  101.    descriptions..

  103.                           What does it support !?

  106.    This version support the following BBS Scrollbacks (filelistnings
  107.    from several BBS types):

  110.    MBBS
  111.    DAYDREAM
  112.    AMIEXPRESS
  113.    FLIM files
  114.    README files
  115.    MODULE files (new (v2.10))
  116.    SPECIAL files (new (v2.40))

  121.    There has been some changes with some of the buttons since v2.00
  122.    of NC. I have made them as TYPES and MODES. 
  123.    TYPE is the BBS type, and MODE is like FLIM, README etc..

  125.    TYPES

  127.    ABBS
  128.    This will only look for 1 line file desc. and put it on the file
  129.    in your DOWNLOAD dir.

  131.    MBBS
  132.    Same as ABBS

  134.    DAYDREAM
  135.    This is more hard work than ABBS/MBBS, this will create a readme file
  136.    for the file desc., in other words, this option will add a comment
  137.    on the file that says: Read long description, and the long desc.
  138.    will be: filename.readme

  140.    AMIEXPRESS
  141.    The same as DAYDREAM
  142.  
  143.    MODES

  145.    NORMAL
  146.    This option will let you use the BBS types, since there has been some
  147.    changes since 2.00, I have been thinking of making all the MODES as
  148.    their own RADIO button, the buttons underneath will describe what
  149.    they do.. As I mention abit earlier, this is the normal mode, where
  150.    you use scrollbacks instead of any of the following modes..

  152.    FLIM
  153.    This works the same way as MBBS/ABBS, but this time it will look
  154.    in a FLIM filelist, so that you can download a number of files from
  155.    a BBS, and then DOWNLOAD the filelist (it must be a FLIM filelist).

  157.    README
  158.    With this option you can DOWNLOAD alot of files from e.g AmiNet
  159.    and then use this option to leave a comment on each file using
  160.    the *.readme file that came along with the file you DOWNLOADED from
  161.    AmiNet (Thor supports this)..

  163.    MODULE
  164.    All modules (Protracker modules) that has composed by as one of the
  165.    samples will be the file description of this module. This module
  166.    must NOT be packed with any archives, just a simple mod.#? or #?.mod
  167.    filename.. Modules that hasn't got BY/# as one of the sample names
  168.    will be stated as UNKNOWN COMPOSER.. This option will check if it is
  169.    a module or not, so.. No worries ! :)

  171.    SPECIAL
  172.    This option is very special ineed !!.. With this option you can
  173.    configure:
  174.    - Filename Size Start
  175.      * This will be the filesize of the file in the chosen filelist
  176.    - Filename Word
  177.      * What word in the filelist is the filename?
  178.    - Comment Start
  179.      * This is where the comment/filedescription starts -1
  180.  
  181.    e.g
  182.    test.lha        1233333       Just a test
  183.    In this example filename word will be 1, and Comment start will be 30,
  184.    and the filesize Start will be 16.. If you don't get it, just
  185.    experiment with the values ! :)

  187.    This option should support (I say) every filelists exists.. Please
  188.    notice that this is only a ONE line comment option, If you want
  189.    more than 1 comment, please say so :)...

  195.    The usage for NC is quite easy to understand, but, I must say it's
  196.    quite confusing. Anyway, here goes:

  198.    USAGE: NC L=LOGFILE/K/A,F=FLIMFILE/K,D=DIR/K,O=OPTIONS/K,M=MODES/K

  200.    Where:
  201.  
  202.    LOGFILE    = The name and path to your logfile (e.g: NCOMM:NComm.scroll)
  203.    FLIMFILE   = Same as LOGFILE, but as a FLIM filelist
  204.    DIR        = The path for your downloaded files (Work:Dload/)
  205.    OPTIONS    = See Options and Modes
  206.    MODES      = Same as options
  207.

  209.    -N = NORMAL      -A = ABBS
